An operating model is only useful if it can be implemented. What is buildable depends on people, platforms, entity and booking structures, cost base and the cost of running two models during transition.
Capmark helps institutions design target operating models that are ready to deliver. We define the business architecture, capability model, governance, processes, controls, technology blueprint, people model and cost structure together, so the new model is phased, costed and owned by the leaders who will run it.
We work at any level of the firm: enterprise, business unit, function, desk or product line. Each design is tested against the constraints of the organisation from the first week.
We settle the choices that shape everything downstream: decision rights, accountabilities, client segments, product economics, product ownership and approval paths. These choices are agreed with the executives who will own the model before detailed design begins.
We define what the business must be able to do, then design the structure, roles, spans and layers that deliver it. The organisation chart follows the capability model, and each role is tested against the operating model it serves.
We design processes front to back with checks, reconciliations and evidence points built in. Data is designed alongside the process: ownership, quality standard, lineage and agreed source of record.
We set the technology blueprint, location and sourcing footprint, and the changes that move the cost base. Platform consolidation, automation and unit-cost targets are phased, costed and linked to specific design decisions.
We design operating models across the full chain: client, desk, product, operations, technology, risk, finance and reporting. Local designs are built to fit the enterprise architecture, so change in one area strengthens the wider model.
