Technology Strategy & Architecture
A costed, sequenced path from legacy estate to a target the business can fund and absorb.

Technology & Data
Every number the firm relies on should have a known source, a named owner and a controlled path.
Most institutions have plenty of data and too little trust in it. The numbers in board packs, customer reports, member statements and daily positions often pass through systems, spreadsheets and hand-offs nobody fully owns.
When teams do not trust the source, they keep private copies. The same figures are re-derived in different places, and every important decision takes longer to evidence.
Capmark helps institutions build data governance that holds: ownership, stewardship, lineage, master data, quality controls and governed end-user tools. Tooling supports the operating model; it does not replace it.
We design the operating model that makes data someone’s job: owners, stewards, forums, decision rights and governance cadence. Ownership is written into roles and survives after the programme closes.
We map where critical numbers come from, from source system to final report. We start with the data behind board, financial, regulatory, customer and member reporting, then fix quality where errors cost most.
We establish agreed sources for the data everyone uses, including customers, members, products, instruments, entities and accounts. A shared glossary and ownership model reduce private copies and reconciliation effort.
We inventory spreadsheets and end-user tools carrying critical work, then move material models into governed platforms or bring them under formal control.
We select and implement data-governance tooling once the operating model is clear. Evaluation is weighted to the estate, ways of working, privacy controls, classification, retention and access requirements.
A Principal leads from day one. The first weeks map the estate, interview data owners and trace a handful of critical numbers from report back to source.
That exercise sets priorities better than a framework alone. Implementation is staged by materiality, with the most critical lineage and controls delivered first.
The engagement closes with trained data owners, a controlled spreadsheet estate and documentation your teams can maintain.
Sequenced through assessment and target-state design, then implementation.
Establish the current state, the constraints, the risks and the value at stake.
Shape the target model and the business case with the executives who own the outcome.
Stand up the team, the plan and the governance around the outcome.
Design, build and test the change, with the business alongside.
Cutover, hypercare and handover, so the business runs it under its own control.
