2012
Founded in London
Early engagements with tier-one investment banks, UK pension funds, quantitative hedge funds and trading venues — delivering complex trading infrastructure and regulatory transformation.

Capmark was founded in London in 2012 by people who had seen the same failure repeatedly: strategy that was sound on paper, and change that stalled in the build. We built a firm where the people who shape the answer stay accountable for delivering it. Today we work across London, Sydney and Melbourne, in financial services and energy markets.
Where we come from
Capmark was formed from years of leading complex programmes inside investment banks, buy-side institutions and wealth firms. The pattern repeated: clients had no shortage of advice, but the advisers who shaped the strategy were rarely the ones who had to make it work on the desk, in the platform, and in front of the regulator. The two were separated — and the change paid the price.
Capmark was built to bridge this divide.
From the earliest City of London engagements, the work was practical: front-office transformation, trade capture, risk and finance operating models, MiFID and Dodd-Frank programmes, platform rationalisation and remediation. The reputation was built on delivery, not presentation.
“We did not set out to build another consulting firm. We set out to build the firm we wished we could have hired — one that understands the market, can challenge the design, and stays until the change works in production.”

The journey
The milestones track the same pattern: specialist delivery in capital markets, then expansion into Australian banking, superannuation, private markets and energy.
2012
Early engagements with tier-one investment banks, UK pension funds, quantitative hedge funds and trading venues — delivering complex trading infrastructure and regulatory transformation.
2016
Three consecutive engagements with a Tier 1 UK investment bank established Capmark as a trusted specialist partner for complex markets change.
2019
First engagement with a major institutional bank and a premier wealth manager — delivering FX and advisory platform transformation in the Asia-Pacific region.
2020
Secured Australia's largest investment bank for electronic trading, surveillance platforms and post-trade processing — anchoring our APAC capital markets practice.
2023
Selected by a global mega-cap private equity firm for post-acquisition transformation — extending our reach into private markets and value-creation programmes.
2024
Launched dedicated superannuation and energy practices supporting institutional investors and the transition to a lower-carbon economy.
Global from the start
In 2019, Capmark expanded to Australia as financial institutions across APAC faced the same pressures seen in London and New York: electronic trading change, surveillance and conduct obligations, treasury and investment-platform modernisation, and the need to internalise capability without losing control.
London
Founded 2012. Markets transformation, MiFID, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, Basel and structural reform.
Sydney
APAC capital markets, surveillance, wealth and superannuation platform delivery.
Melbourne
Superannuation internalisation, treasury transformation and energy markets risk, controls and platform delivery.
