About Capmark Advisory

Capmark Advisory is a global management and technology consulting firm built for financial institutions and energy markets. We work alongside the executives who own the outcome — from strategy and target operating model through to live, regulated delivery.

Our teams are senior by design. We are small on purpose: every engagement is staffed with practitioners who have run the change they advise on, not a pyramid of generalists.

The opportunity

Work at the centre of delivery: turning how a desk, operations team or finance function works today into a design the programme can build, test and land.

What you will work on

  • Map current-state processes across front office, operations, risk or finance, and document how work actually flows.
  • Run structured analysis on positions, trades, reference data and reconciliations to evidence where change is needed.
  • Write the requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering and vendor teams build against.
  • Prepare testing and cutover materials, and support UAT with the client's own teams.

What you will deliver

  • Current-state and target-state process documentation the whole programme works from.
  • Requirements and acceptance criteria that survive contact with build teams.
  • Test scenarios and reconciliation evidence that give sign-off real meaning.

What we are looking for

  • One to four years in financial services, energy trading or consulting, ideally close to trading, operations, treasury or finance.
  • Strong analytical writing: you can turn a messy workshop into a clear, structured document.
  • Comfort with data: Excel and SQL at a working level; you check numbers rather than accept them.
  • Right to work in the UK or Australia.

Experience that will help you succeed

  • Exposure to a trading, settlement, risk or finance platform such as Murex, Calypso, an ETRM or an in-house equivalent.
  • Time on a delivery programme: requirements, testing, cutover or PMO.
  • A finance, economics, engineering or quantitative degree.

Additional experience we value

  • Reconciliation or data-quality work on positions, cash or P&L.
  • Regulatory change exposure across reporting, capital or market conduct.
  • Python or VBA scripting for analysis.

How we work

We deliver inside Capmark's five-stage engagement method: Assess, Define, Mobilise, Implement and Sustain. You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, own a clear part of the outcome, and be supported by a Principal accountable for the engagement.

What we offer

  • Senior, high-trust work with real ownership from day one — no bench, no busywork.
  • Direct exposure to C-suite stakeholders at leading financial institutions and energy trading organisations.
  • A genuinely flat, senior team where the best idea wins.
  • Competitive compensation and a deliberate investment in your development.
